Director of School Strategy and Logistics, Marie Reed Elementary School
A native Washingtonian, Ms. Phallon Lattimore is the second of three generations of her family to attend DC Public Schools. She attended Amidon-Bowen Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School, and Duke Ellington School of the Arts High School. After college, Ms. Lattimore returned to DCPS to begin her career and her family. After seven years as a DCPS employee, she is now the Director of School Strategy and Logistics (DSL) at Marie Reed Elementary School where her two children attend school in the Dual Language program. In this position, Ms. Lattimore serves as a mentor and role model. According to her school leadership team, she works tirelessly to ensure that the school is in top condition for the students and staff, facilitating regular, goal-oriented meetings, and finding time to provide recognition and support for all of her staff.
Ms. Lattimore began her career in DCPS in 2008 as a substitute teacher. A year later she developed the dance curriculum for the Career Pathways Program, recruiting and training most of the teachers for the program. From there, Ms. Lattimore continued to assist in developing curriculum by transitioning to the Afterschool Coordinator at Sousa Middle School and then School Without Walls High School. Finally, she served as the Business Manager at Marie Reed for three years. In that time she was groomed for the DSL role under the strong leadership of Superintendent Eugene Pinkard and the Director of the Strategic School Operations Program at Marie Reed, Stephanie Byrd.
