Michael Cuszena
Michael’s interest in the social sector developed at an early age when he experienced economic disparity between countries while traveling with his family. Fast forward a dozen years and a degree later, Michael (not surprisingly) found himself in the foothills of the Andes Mountains assisting farmers and impoverished communities in Peru and Ecuador. Upon his return, he wove together his love for international culture and appreciation for finance by devoting his career to financial empowerment and business development within low income communities in New York City. Wanting to be closer to his roots, Michael relocated back to his native California where he joined the microlending organization Kiva in San Francisco. With Kiva, Michael has kept his appreciation for microfinance while also finding a knack for people and program management, professional coaching, and building effective teams. When out of the office you can find Michael running, playing soccer, eating, and spending time with friends and family.
