Griselda Macias
Program Manager, New Futures
Griselda has several years of experience working on empowering and re-engaging young adults to access and succeed in higher education. She previously served as the College Access Coordinator at The Latin American Youth Center, where she managed two auxiliary higher education programs: The Bard College Clemente Course and New Futures Scholarship. In this role she provided financial, mentoring, and college-readiness support in an effort to encourage successful transition and completion of their post-secondary programs. Prior to this time she also served as an Outreach Coordinator at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and at Northern Illinois University, where she organized events in the Midwest and across the country that promote the importance of a college education. As a first generation college graduate, Griselda began her passion and career for inspiring low-income and students of color to access a higher education while working at The Education Trust a non-profit advocacy organization in Washington, D.C. Griselda received a B.A. in Communications, Public Relations, a minor in Political Science from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI.
