Cathy Zaragoza
PAVE (Parents Amplifying Voices in Education)
Cathy Zaragoza is Chief of Staff at PAVE (Parents Amplifying Voices in Education). In her role, she focuses on internal systems, communications, development, operations, and event planning. Prior to joining the PAVE team, Cathy was a Senior Grant Writer at a nonprofit development firm in DC, where she worked with organizations nationwide to develop their revenue streams and strategic fundraising plans. To date, she has written and cultivated grants totaling over $9 million for nonprofit organizations focused on education and college access, workforce development, housing, safety net services, and hunger relief. Previously, Cathy held a P55 Fellowship through Princeton AlumniCorps in the network office at Achievement Prep Public Charter School in DC’s Ward 8. There, she developed and refined network-wide and school-based systems, planning events, and producing grants for ongoing programs and the network’s capital campaign. Prior to her role at Achievement Prep, Cathy proudly completed two terms as an AmeriCorps Fellow with the national nonprofit organization Reading Partners, where she oversaw volunteer-based literacy tutoring programs for elementary school students. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in Art and Archaeology with a focus on the History of Art, and she earned a certificate in Spanish Language and Culture.
