Emerald Stewart

Emerald Stewart is a proud native of Houston, Texas and graduate of Howard University; she has lived in Washington, DC for twelve years. Over the past seven years, she has used her project management and relationship-building skills to advance the missions of thriving nonprofits in DC. She also recently earned an executive certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University. As a first-generation college graduate, Emerald is also extremely passionate about education equity for youth in underserved communities. In her current role as Manager of Grants at Higher Achievement, an academic enrichment program, she is responsible for revenue generation through government and foundation grants. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, eating out at a great restaurant, and volunteering at local charities in the city. She looks forward to this opportunity to learn from leaders and peers in the nonprofit sector and further advance her career as a nonprofit professional.
