Blake Jones

Grantmakers for Effective Organizations

Blake Jones currently serves as a senior manager at Grantmakers for Effective Organizations. In this role, he acts as a customer service champion to ensure high quality experiences for both conference participants and members. He coordinates logistics and participates in program planning for all of GEO’s member program events, and he manages the membership renewal process. Prior to joining GEO, Blake served as special projects manager at the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, a jazz education organization, where he managed all donor-interfacing aspects of Institute events, including its International Jazz Competition and the annual International Jazz Day concerts. Blake also gained special events and logistics experience during tenures with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Washington, D.C. In these positions, he managed planning and execution of member cultivation events for the National Symphony Orchestra and assisted with Ambassador-hosted receptions, parties and dinners. Blake holds a master’s degree in arts management from American University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Alabama.
