Lamiss Al-Tashi has been working at the World Bank Group in the International Center for the Settlement of Disputes (ICSID) since 2011. Currently, she is the Conferences officer overseeing the organization and coordination of the Centre’s hearings, sessions and events held locally and internationally. Prior to joining ICSID, she worked as an Assistant to the Congressional Affairs Officer and then as the Public Affairs Officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen, Washington D.C. During that time, she worked on issues related to democracy, human rights, gender equality, economic and political matters. She has previous work experience in event management, business intelligence, marketing communications and strategy in Malaysia focusing on the MENA region as well as advertising and promotions in Leo Burnett. She has also worked with the UNDP in Yemen. Ms. Al-Tashi holds a Master degree in International Commerce and Public Policy from George Mason University (M.A.) and an honors Bachelor degree in Business and Commerce from Monash University (Hon B.Com.). She is fluent in English, Arabic, conversational Spanish and Urdu.
