ProInspire Announces Launch of The ProInspire Leadership Institute, Powered by The Kresge Foundation
Kresge will support ProInspire’s leadership development training for grantee organizations in seven cities
ProInspire is excited to announce the launch of The ProInspire Leadership Institute, Powered by The Kresge Foundation. The Institute will deliver ProInspire’s proven leadership development program to rising staff members at organizations that have received Kresge funding in seven cities over the next 12 months. The first cohort begins its training today.
The ProInspire Leadership Institute is a two-day, in-person program designed to empower rising leaders with the personal awareness and practical skills necessary to scale impact through their organization and partners. Based on ProInspire’s leadership curriculum, the Institute will help participants build relationships with other leaders in their city while engaging in targeted learning and key skills practice around personal purpose, emotional intelligence, effective communication, delegation, coaching, feedback, and building networks for cross-sector collaboration and professional growth. The Institute will also include a new ProInspire module on implicit bias, a key gap around addressing diversity and inclusion within the nonprofit sector.
It also serves as a model for how funders can intentionally support grantees to develop knowledge around management practices, increase leadership effectiveness, and build relationships across organizations.
ProInspire’s seasoned faculty will lead the workshops in seven cities, including Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and the San Francisco Bay Area. The geographic reach aligns with Kresge’s focus on expanding opportunities for low-income people in America’s cities.
“We are thrilled to partner with The Kresge Foundation to create the ProInspire Leadership Institute and help develop leaders within Kresge grantee organizations,” said Monisha Kapila, ProInspire Founder and CEO. “Kresge’s investment in leadership development for their grantees highlights the importance of philanthropy to support nonprofits in building capacity to achieve their missions. We are proud to be selected to support the Foundation and their grantees.”
“Effective management and leadership is key to our grantees’ ability to achieve their missions,” said Caroline Altman Smith, Deputy Director of The Kresge Foundation’s Education Program. “Kresge’s investment in The ProInspire Leadership Institute will help strengthen the leadership capacity of mid-level staff at a number of our grantee organizations, especially around critical management skills.”
